The Problem-Set

  • Chris Mailander

Every CEO that I work with feels it. Something has changed in the environment profoundly. AI is able to do things in a month that used to take a decade to do. Geopolitical shifts are changing our entire supply chains. Capital costs, fuel, hiring trends — all working with new behaviors.

The risks are significant. The decisions are even more consequential. Some of your competitors are taking advantage of this moment, this shift, and they will win. Significantly. Many will stagnate, some will even disappear.

And the reason is because it's hard to give up the playbooks for a company that made it successful. It's hard for a team that's been successful to reorchestrate, to reorganize, to adapt to what comes next.

And as hard as it is to give up the playbook that made you successful, the even harder part is to write the next playbook.

That's the problem set. That's the work.
